Rock House Firearms — Refund & Returns Policy

Last updated: August 21, 2026

This policy describes the refund, return, and cancellation terms for all products and services sold by Rock House Firearms, LLC (“Rock House Firearms,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms & Conditions at rockhousefirearms.com/terms. By placing an order or authorizing a service, you agree to the terms below.

Questions? Contact us at support@rockhousefirearms.com, or visit us at 3233 FM 2108, Lufkin, TX 75901.

1. FIREARMS — ALL SALES FINAL AFTER TRANSFER

Once a firearm transfer has been completed — meaning ATF Form 4473 has been signed, the NICS background check has been conducted, and the firearm has been released to the purchaser — the sale is final. No returns, exchanges, or refunds will be issued on transferred firearms under any circumstances.

Any defect in a transferred firearm must be pursued through the manufacturer’s warranty process. We will gladly provide manufacturer contact information and assist you in starting a warranty claim, but we cannot accept the return of a firearm after transfer.

This policy exists because federal law places strict requirements on firearm transactions, and reversing a completed transfer involves significant legal complexity. Please review your purchase carefully before initiating the transfer process.

2. DENIED BACKGROUND CHECK

If you purchase a firearm from Rock House Firearms — in-store or online — and the required ATF/NICS background check is denied, the sale is cancelled and your order is refunded, minus the following, which are your responsibility:

  • All shipping costs, including the cost of returning the firearm from the receiving dealer to us
  • Our dealer transfer fee$30 for a standard ATF Form 4473 transfer, or $50 for an ATF Form 4 (NFA) transfer
  • ATF Form 1 service fee – $50 for an ATF Form 1 (NFA) service assistance fee
  • A 30% restocking fee, calculated on the purchase price of the firearm

Any transfer or handling fee charged by your receiving dealer is set by that dealer, is separate from our prices, and is not refundable by us.

Rock House Firearms is not responsible for, and does not control, the outcome of any background check conducted through the FBI/NICS system. By initiating a firearm purchase or transfer you acknowledge that an approved background check is a condition of receiving the firearm.

If you believe your background check result was issued in error, you may appeal directly to the FBI through the NICS appeals process. Rock House Firearms cannot and will not intervene in or appeal a background check result on your behalf.

Delayed background checks are not denials. A delayed transfer is held until the delay resolves under applicable law, and no cancellation fee applies while a check remains in delayed status.

3. ORDERS CANCELLED BEFORE TRANSFER

If you wish to cancel a firearm order before the transfer has been initiated (that is, before ATF Form 4473 has been signed):

  • Contact us as soon as possible at support@rockhousefirearms.com or by phone.
  • If the firearm has not yet shipped, we will cancel the order and refund it in full whenever we are able to stop the shipment before it leaves the warehouse.
  • If the firearm has already shipped, a 30% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund, and all outbound and return shipping costs are your responsibility.
  • Transfer fees already paid are non-refundable.

Once the transfer process has begun — including the signing of ATF Form 4473 — the order cannot be cancelled, and Section 1 applies.

4. IF YOUR RECEIVING DEALER REFUSES THE TRANSFER

You are responsible for confirming that the FFL dealer you select at checkout will accept your transfer. If your selected dealer refuses the firearm, is unresponsive, or is no longer eligible to receive it:

  • We will work with you to select an alternate dealer, and all additional shipping costs required to reroute the firearm are your responsibility.
  • If no valid dealer can be arranged, the order will be handled as a cancellation under Section 3, with the 30% restocking fee and all shipping costs deducted from your refund.

5. ABANDONED TRANSFERS

If a firearm shipped to your selected dealer, or held for pickup at our store, is not transferred within 90 days of our notice to you that it is ready — for any reason other than a pending background check — the purchase is deemed abandoned. Abandoned firearms are forfeited to Rock House Firearms and returned to our inventory, and no refund will be issued.

We will make reasonable attempts to reach you using the email address and phone number on your order before a firearm is deemed abandoned. Please keep your contact information current in your account.

6. NFA ITEMS (SUPPRESSORS, SBRs, AND OTHER NFA-REGULATED PRODUCTS)

NFA items may be cancelled and refunded in full only before ATF paperwork has been submitted. Once a Form 4 or Form 5 application has been submitted to the ATF, the sale is final and no refund will be issued, including if the application is later denied, withdrawn, or abandoned.  This includes our ATF Form 1 assistance service.  If you paid for our ATF Form 1 assistance service and the application is denied by the ATF, we will work with you to help you get the issue resolved, but no refund will be issued.

ATF approval times are set by the federal government, are entirely outside our control, and are not grounds for cancellation or refund.

Any NFA transfer tax paid to the ATF is a federal tax, not a charge by Rock House Firearms, and is refundable only through the ATF’s own process.

7. AMMUNITION — ALL SALES FINAL

For safety and liability reasons, all ammunition sales are final. Ammunition may not be returned or exchanged, opened or unopened.

The only exceptions are: (a) ammunition that arrives damaged in shipment, and (b) an order shipped in error by us — in both cases, see Section 10.

If we are unable to lawfully ship ammunition to your address, the order will be cancelled and refunded in full.

8. ACCESSORIES, PARTS & OPTICS

Unopened, unused accessories, parts, and optics may be returned within 30 days of delivery or purchase, subject to the following:

  • Items must be in original, unopened, resalable packaging with all included materials.
  • Proof of purchase is required.
  • Items showing signs of installation, use, damage, or missing packaging will not be accepted.
  • Special-order items are non-returnable.
  • Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility unless the return is the result of our error.
  • We reserve the right to apply a restocking fee of up to 20% on returned items that are not in fully resalable condition.

Items that cannot be returned under this section may still be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty; contact us and we will point you to the right warranty channel.

9. ORDERS WE CANCEL

We may cancel all or part of an order — for product unavailability, pricing or description errors, jurisdictional restrictions on firearms, ammunition, magazines, or accessories, suspected fraud, or a suspected unlawful purchase. Orders or items we cancel for these reasons are refunded in full, including any shipping charged for the cancelled items.

10. DAMAGED, DEFECTIVE, OR INCORRECT ITEMS

Inspect your shipment promptly on arrival.

  • Shipping damage: report it to us within 3 business days of delivery, with photographs of the item and the packaging. Carrier claims have short deadlines and we cannot file a claim after they close.
  • Wrong item shipped: report it within 5 business days of delivery. We will arrange the return at our expense and ship the correct item or refund you in full.
  • Defective non-firearm items: report within 5 business days of delivery. Beyond that window, defects are handled under the manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Firearms: a firearm that has already been transferred to you cannot be returned; defects are handled through the manufacturer’s warranty (Section 1).

11. FFL TRANSFER FEES

Fees paid to Rock House Firearms for receiving and processing an incoming firearm transfer are non-refundable once the transfer process has been initiated, regardless of the outcome of the transfer or background check.

12. GUNSMITHING SERVICES

Rock House Firearms takes pride in the quality of our gunsmithing work. The following terms apply to all gunsmithing services:

A. No refund once work is completed per the work order. Once you have signed and agreed to a work order detailing the scope of gunsmithing services to be performed, and Rock House Firearms has completed that work in accordance with the agreed-upon work order, no refund will be issued. By signing the work order you acknowledge and approve the scope, nature, and expected outcome of the work.

It is your responsibility to review and understand the work order before signing. If you have questions about any aspect of the proposed work, please ask before signing.

B. Refund if work is not completed per the work order. If Rock House Firearms fails to complete the gunsmithing work in accordance with the agreed-upon and signed work order, a refund will be issued. The refund amount will be determined based on the nature and extent of the deviation from the work order, up to the full amount paid for the service.

In the event of a dispute regarding whether work was completed in accordance with the work order, we will work with you in good faith to reach a fair resolution. If a resolution cannot be reached, you may pursue remedies available under applicable Texas law.

C. Customer-supplied firearms. Rock House Firearms is not responsible for pre-existing damage, defects, or issues with firearms brought in for gunsmithing services. We inspect each firearm upon drop-off and note any pre-existing conditions. Customers are encouraged to review and confirm the condition of their firearm at the time of drop-off.

Custom finishes — including Stippling, Laser Engraving/Imaging, Cerakote and Hydrodip — are hand-applied processes. Minor variation from samples or photographs is normal and is not a defect.

D. Deposits. Deposits on gunsmithing work become non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work has begun.

13. HOW TO REQUEST A RETURN OR REFUND

  1. Contact us at support@rockhousefirearms.com or call us during store hours
  2. Provide your name, order number, and the reason for the request
  3. We will respond within 2 business days with return authorization and instructions

Do not ship items back to us without first receiving return authorization. Unauthorized returns may be refused or returned to sender at your expense.

14. HOW REFUNDS ARE ISSUED

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method, normally within 5–7 business days of our receipt and inspection of the returned item, or of the cancellation being approved. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take an additional several business days for the credit to appear on your statement.

We do not issue refunds in cash, by check, or to a payment method other than the one used for the original purchase.

15. CHARGEBACKS

If you have a concern about an order, contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly. Initiating a chargeback on an order that was lawfully fulfilled, including a firearm transferred to you or held for you at a dealer, instead of using the process in this policy, constitutes a breach of our Terms & Conditions. We reserve the right to dispute improper chargebacks, to recover amounts owed together with reasonable costs of collection, and to refuse future orders from customers who abuse the chargeback process.

16. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

Rock House Firearms reserves the right to update or modify this policy at any time. Changes are effective when posted, and the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised. The policy in effect at the time of your order governs that order.
