What it is
What Is Cerakote?
Cerakote is a ceramic-based polymer coating that is sprayed on and oven-cured. It goes on at roughly one thousandth of an inch, so it won’t change the fit or tolerances of your firearm, and once cured it is far harder and more chemical-resistant than paint, bluing or most factory finishes. It resists solvents, oils, sweat and scratches, and it’s one of the most effective ways to protect a firearm from rust in the East Texas humidity.
We coat everything from a single slide or handguard to complete rifles and shotguns, including suppressors, optics mounts, magazines and small parts. Choose from hundreds of stock colors, or let us build a two-tone, multi-color or camo pattern around your idea.

Our process
How We Cerakote Your Firearm
1
Disassemble & Degrease
Every part is fully stripped, then degreased so no oil is left to interfere with adhesion.
2
Blast & Prep
Surfaces are media-blasted to give the coating a clean, uniform profile to bond to.
3
Spray & Cure
The color is sprayed in thin, even coats and oven-cured to the manufacturer’s schedule.
4
Reassemble & Inspect
Your firearm is reassembled, function-checked and inspected before you’re notified for pickup.

Questions
Cerakote FAQ
Common questions about our Cerakote service. More answers on the FAQ page.
How much does Cerakote cost?
Our Cerakote work starts at $150 for parts-only jobs. Full handguns, rifles and shotguns, and multi-color or camo patterns are quoted individually based on the size of the firearm, how much disassembly is required and how many colors are involved. Request a quote and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours.
How long does Cerakote take?
Most Cerakote jobs are completed in 2–4 weeks. Single-color jobs on a single part are usually on the shorter end; full firearms with camo or multi-color patterns take longer. We’ll give you a specific timeline when we confirm your quote.
Is Cerakote more durable than paint or bluing?
Yes. Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating that is oven-cured onto the metal or polymer. It is significantly harder and more resistant to solvents, oils, sweat and scratches than spray paint, bluing or parkerizing, which makes it an excellent choice for duty, carry and hunting guns that live in the Texas humidity.
Will Cerakote affect the fit or function of my firearm?
No. Cerakote is applied at roughly 0.001" (one thousandth of an inch), which is thin enough that it does not change tolerances. Tight-fitting parts such as rails and slide-to-frame contact areas are masked or lightly fitted as needed. Your firearm is reassembled and function-checked before it goes back to you.
Do I need to disassemble my firearm before dropping it off?
No — we handle full disassembly and reassembly in the shop. Please bring the firearm unloaded, with no magazine inserted, and let us know about any aftermarket parts or modifications so we can plan the masking.
Can you Cerakote a suppressor, optic or magazines?
Yes. We regularly coat suppressors, scope tubes and mounts, magazines and other accessories. Bring your suppressor with a copy of its approved ATF paperwork — as a licensed SOT we can hold NFA items while the work is done.
Can I ship my firearm or parts to you?
Parts, slides, handguards and other non-firearm components can be shipped straight to us. Complete firearms (anything with a serialized receiver or frame) must be shipped FFL-to-FFL from a licensed dealer. Contact us before shipping and we’ll walk you through it.
